One week from now, on November 4th, I will be sending a letter to the Prime Minister and to the Home Secretary about the government’s lack of action in Darfur.

I will ask the Home secretary to cease sending refugees from Darfur back to Sudan to face torture, sexual assault, rape and murder, and I will ask the Prime Minister why he has failed to do as he promised last year and end the genocide in Darfur.

On November 4th we are asking you and our thousands of members and supporters in the country to do the same and write to your MP calling for an end to deportations from the UK to Sudan. They will be joined by our university branches holding events and petitions on the day of action across the country

We will circulate an all member’s email, and email to members and supporters in this event with a draft letter which you can sign, edit and send to your MP in support of a parliamentary Early Day Motion to the commons being tabled this week. By encouraging your MP to sign the EDM you can help to change government policy.

Please also join our campaign group – Save Darfur – which can be found at this link:http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=36142671365

Please also invite your friends to this group and to this day of action

We have thousands of members; if you contact your local MP then you can make the difference

Thank you
